Thank you for all your submissions to Wacom Industrial Design Contest! The Community staff of Wacom Asia Pacific very much enjoyed reviewing the entries.
"Industrial design" sounds fancy and complicated but we really appreciated many people participated in this contest. Half of the total entries came from Philippines so this contest was very popular there. :)

Boys loves any kind of vehicle and it's hard to choose an airplane or bike or car or train.... So It's like a all boy's adoration! but gas bill must be expensive...ha-ha!
Interview with Is Yuniarto: 1. Please introduce yourself briefly?
 I've been drawing comic since my childhood, because I love creating stories with interesting story and characters. After I graduate from design university, I aim straight for comic publishers in my country. in 2005 I debut with manga entitled 'Wind Rider' (Shonen-sky-fantasy genre) and got a great positive respond from comic readers in Indonesia. After that in 2007 I started my own studio and independent publishing to create and publish my 2nd manga - 'Knights of Apocalypse' Trilogy. in 2009 my 3rd manga series published, entitled 'GARUDAYANA', inspired by my country's cultural heritage: Wayang (Mahabharata & Ramayana Epics), Batik designs, and great ancient places in Indonesia.
And in October 2010, my debut manga 'Wind Rider: SKY AGE' going to be publish in a new format by a different publisher.

2. Please tell us about the winning artwork, " Skybike Hurricane " ? It can fly and go on a road and...anything else??
Basically it's an aircraft with motorbike look. The wings are fold if they're not flying. Skybike Hurricane is the main Hero's vehicle in 'Wind Rider' manga. The 3D model of SKybike were created by my friend, Bernard.
Anyway I created a mini racing game 'WIND RIDER: GRAND PRIX', based on my manga 'Wind Rider'. There are Four different types of Skybike and Rider to choose, each with their own status and special ability. You can play it online at:

3. Where did the idea come from?
I love skies so much, and as a human -land dwellers, I wonder how is it feel to fly accross the clouds. One night I was in my room brainstorming for a new manga concept sketches. I wanted to do a fantasy manga, telling a story about civilization above the clouds, where the earth/lands were no longer a nice place to live.
With that 'Sky Age' concept, I need to create the vehicle for the sky people. An air craft is a must, but I dont want to design an ordinary airplanes. So I try to combine propeller aircraft parts with motorbike parts. Later as the manga story goes, there are lot of racing and dog fight scenes involving these skybikes.

The dress, shoes, tiara, wings, bracelet and bouquet... coordination and balance look perfect and gorgeous! I like gold dress and accessories. The girl looks like a model appeared in a fashion show. I want somebody to make the vision into a reality!

1. Please introduce yourself briefly?
我是來自台灣的業餘插畫愛好者，未來希望朝著職業繪師(conpect artist)目標前進。
2. Please tell us about the winning artwork, " bridesmaid"? I wondered why the girl doesn't smile even though she's wearing the gorgeous and pretty dress.
很難解釋~在我畫的人物有燦爛陽光笑容的還滿少的... 這也是我的獨特風格(笑)~ 我的作品中多屬於暗黑系的風格，或是 帶有媚惑詭異的黑暗色彩。
3. Where did the idea come from?
 《實用耐穿》+《漂亮》是最大的考量點。 聽起來很像是商人的口語，不過這是我的習慣，總是在作品當中尋求藝術和可能被實現的平衡點。 最近因為哥哥要結婚了，所以去挑選要在婚宴會場上穿的小禮服。 但是感覺市面上賣的小禮服雖然很漂亮但是卻不實穿。 所以在設計這套伴娘裝的時候考量到了這點。 其實這次兩件式的設計，分成上衣和裙子。 上衣搭配A字裙 馬上就可以搖身一變 成為實用的上班族的風格(OL) 裙子簡單搭配緊身T-shirt上衣 也可以變身俏麗的風格 不同的穿著混搭就可以有多種風格是我覺得這套衣服最大的賣點! 鞋子考量到是伴娘身分的關係，所以採用羅馬鞋混合魚口鞋的設計，帶有剛強的中性風格，整體感覺上不至於太過於甜美。 這件作品原先是07年繪製的(如附件)，以前畫給自己看，現在希望自己的作品不但自己喜歡也希望大家會喜歡。
